Pennsylvania has 67 counties or equivalents, 1,844 places and 1,787 ZIP Code Tabulation Areas with PLACES estimates, covering 12,961,683 residents (10,332,678 adults).
PLACES does not publish state totals. The state figures here are population-weighted county estimates computed by this site, following CDC's published method for aggregating areas, and carry no interval. For the 2024 release that gives obesity at 33.8% (site aggregate) (age-adjusted 34.1%), above the national interval around 33.3%; county estimates range from 29.6% to 39.7%.
Diagnosed diabetes is 11.6% (site aggregate) by the same method (national 12.0%) and 5.8% (site aggregate) of adults aged 18–64 are estimated to lack health insurance (national 10.8%).
Report card: 40 measures by CDC category
Crude prevalence is the estimated share of all adults. Age-adjusted prevalence is standardised to the 2000 US standard population so that areas with different age structures can be compared. CDC: "Age-adjusted estimates are only available at the county and place-level."

State figures are population-weighted county estimates computed by this site and carry no interval, so the dot is a point and the US flag says whether the state figure falls above, below or within CDC's national 95% interval. Each measure links to its national and state tables.
Counties in Pennsylvania
Ordered by point estimate; intervals overlap for most neighbouring rows, so the order is not a ranking. The flag says whether each row's interval lies above, below or in line with the Pennsylvania figure, which is a population-weighted county estimate computed by this site and carries no interval.

Questions and answers
How is the Pennsylvania figure calculated?
PLACES publishes county, place, tract and ZCTA estimates but no state row. Following CDC's guidance for aggregating areas, this site multiplies each county's estimate by its adult population, sums across the state's 67 counties and divides by the total adult population. The result has no published confidence interval, so county pages describe their position against it as above, below or in line with the state figure.
Which Pennsylvania counties have the highest obesity estimates?
The county table on this page can be sorted by any of the 40 measures. Estimates are listed with their 95% confidence intervals; adjacent counties often have overlapping intervals and cannot be told apart, so the order is by point estimate only and is not a ranking of health.
What is the difference between crude and age-adjusted figures?
Crude prevalence is the estimated share of all adults. Age-adjusted prevalence re-weights the estimate to the 2000 US standard population so areas with different age structures can be compared; CDC publishes age-adjusted figures for counties and places only. The toggle on this page switches between them.
Where does this data come from?
CDC PLACES: Local Data for Better Health, 2025 release, data updated 4 Dec 2025; the state figure for obesity is 33.8% (site aggregate) in the 2024 release.
Provenance
Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, PLACES: Local Data for Better Health, 2025 release (data updated 4 Dec 2025), with the 2022, 2023, 2024 releases for reference; US government work, public domain. Boundaries and ZIP-to-county relationships: US Census Bureau. Percentages are shown to one decimal as CDC publishes them; state figures are population-weighted means computed by this site. The Pennsylvania figure for each measure is the sum over counties of estimate × adult population, divided by the state's adult population, per CDC's guidance for aggregating areas; measures defined on a subgroup (women 50–74, adults 18–64, adults 65 and over) are weighted by total adult population as an approximation.
