PLACES 2023 release
Data updated 10 Jul 2024 on data.cdc.gov. 37 measures based on BRFSS 2020 and 2021; estimates for 3,143 counties, 28,484 places and 32,409 ZIP Code Tabulation Areas.
Notes from CDC's release notes
- CDC: estimates for Florida were not available for measures based on the 2021 BRFSS; the seven even-year measures from the 2020 BRFSS were carried over for Florida.
- CDC: the 2020 BRFSS colorectal cancer screening question was changed to five test types, so screening estimates were higher than in earlier years.
- CDC changed how 95% confidence intervals are simulated from this release: intervals may be wider than in earlier releases.
- Seven disability measures were added.
Paraphrased from CDC's PLACES release notes and FAQ.

States with missing estimates
| State | County estimates not published |
|---|---|
| Florida | 78% |
Share of county × measure cells with no published value in this release. Around 18% means the seven health-related social needs measures were not estimated for that state; 70% or more means the state's BRFSS year did not qualify and only the carried-over measures were published.
National estimates in this release
CDC's US row from the county file. Measures in this release that are no longer in the current release are listed above under removals. Differences between releases reflect new survey years, changed questions and modelling changes as well as any real change; CDC does not support reading them as trends.
